When it comes to just chilling at home, doing errands, or commuting to school for one class, I always do my skin care and lip balm regardless while ignoring makeup.
On the other hand, I alternate between full face makeup and a “light” makeup look (skipping colour corrector, foundation, blush, and contour).
Here are the products I use:
Skin Care (I always do this in the morning, and again at night after my makeup is removed)
Facial Cleanser: First Aid Beauty’s Face Cleanser
Given that I have fairly oily and acne-prone skin, ensuring that the skin care I use keeps my face without oils without drying out my skin is crucial. After having oil producing issues with using the Clean & Clear line’s cleansers, switching to this cleanser REALLY helped with acne break outs and such.
Moisturizer: I alternate between Clinique’s Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and Garnier’s SkinActive Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel Cream
For oily skin types like me, gel creams are a god send for those who need moisture without clogging pores.
Make Up Products
Primer: Rimmel’s Stay Matte Primer
Colour Corrector: NYX’s Concealer Jar (in Orange)
Setting Powder: Well this one is kind of weird because I usually do this step before doing foundation as a way to lock it in place. In addition, the product I use for setting is technically a matte bronzer, but since it is exactly my skin tone, I found it better as a “matte” setting powder. So yeah, I use Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer for this step.
Foundation: For school and everyday “basic” wear, I usually go for L’Oreal’s Infallible Pro-Matte or NARS’s Velvet Matte Tinted Moisturizer. When I’m going somewhere fancy like an event or such, I pull out the internet’s favourite Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation.
Concealer: I use L’Oreal’s True Match Superblendable Crayon Concealer for spot-concealing areas that wasn’t covered up by the foundation. Meanwhile, for highlighting my under eyes, I use NYX’s HD Photogenic Concealer Wand.
Eyeliner: Kat von D Tattoo Liner. One of my all-time favourite felt-tip pen liners out there. Allows you to perfect that cat eye.
Mascara: Maybelline Lash Sensational. An old favourite.
Contour and Highlight: I use NYX’s 3 Steps to Sculpt Palette (the contour shade) and NYX’s Away We Glow Illuminating Powder (in Shimmer Thrill)
Blush: NYX’s High Definition Blush (in Beach Babe). I use it as a transition colour between the contour and highlight to soften the colours together.
Lipstick: Before applying lipstick, I put on lip balm to prevent my lips from drying. I always gravitate towards darker colours like browns, plums, mauves, and deep reds. The colour I would use would depend on the outfit I’m wearing that day. A lip colour that I wear A LOT is Tarte’s Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint (in Acid Wash).
and last but not least, setting spray: NYX’s Matte Finish Setting Spray
Here is how I would usually look whenever I’m wearing full face makeup.
